Kirivehera Stupa Building

Kirivehera is an ancient stupa renowned for its historical significance and spiritual sanctity.

Located in the Ruhunu region of Sri Lanka, it is built in the sacred place of Kataragama. This holy site has been purified by the Buddha's presence, making it one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations for Buddhists and devotees.

The stupa was constructed by Mahaghosha Thero, a devoted disciple of the Buddha, and has since become a symbol of devotion, peace, and cultural heritage.

A stupa house is called Viharaya in local belief near to the stupa (dagaba or devalaya). In early point paramount stupa at Kirivehera is Viharaya. It has a vihara, it is not a primordial historical structure. That Viharaya is marked by the authorities in modern state and temples erected as a century belongs. The stupa is original. With the present time the outskirts of Kirivehera stupa is being, there are some activities for person to do in the Viharaya.

There are seven (07) historical incidents when several Buddha stupa renovation was operating by this stupa including the Mahasiri (1 A.D.) times. All its incidents so far has been "history alone there". In each of these occasions the historical information is not in the correct chain of the chronological order. Also, when a monastery in the area hasn't existed the stupa Vandohana (renovation) occurred as a joint effort with locals. While they worked very hard and made all their names remembered, this is remained on the history and not more.

A huge Bhikkhu community has placed in at the other place with crossed (paravuru) and has built countless (all belonging) more than one or more Kirivehera stupa in the recent occasions. Finally, as one the of this is one among its incidents. They decided to inaugurate this on this occasion and its structure has been constructed.
