Welcome to Kirivehera

Securing prominence as one of the most unique sacred monuments among the historical sites in Ruhuna, the Kirivehera is an ancient stupa believed to date back to the 3rd century BC. It is said to have been built by King Mahasena, the brother of King Devanampiyatissa. The Kirivehera is also among the sixteen sacred sites of Buddhist pilgrimage in Sri Lanka.
